Prototype Development

You have the idea… you’ve done the research… and now you want to get your idea off of paper and into the real world? Our Prototype Development Grant can help fund your new information technology product development.

Prototype Development Grants are limited to no more than half of project costs. Generally, funding ranges from $3,000 to $12,000. Our grants may not be used to reimburse off-shore labor. The use of Pennsylvania talent is strongly preferred. We also encourage the use of upcoming talent in the form of apprentices (recent graduates) and interns (current students).Grant proposals may be strengthened by presenting market research resulting in the presence of a sizeable market, intent-to-buy letters from prospective clients, a system drawing identifying how your product fits into the overall solution, collaboration with college or university centers of excellence, faculty and/or students, and an explanation of how commercialization will commence once the new product is developed.
