VENANGO CATHOLIC HIGH SCHOOL LAUNCHES NEW WEBSITE
OIL CITY, PA, August 26, 2010 – Venango Catholic High School, which has been
providing quality Catholic education to the Oil Region for over 45 years, has recently
launched a new website, www.venangocatholic.org. The creation of the website was
made possible by two grants, one through The Center for eBusiness and Advanced IT
(eBizITPA), and one through the Erie Diocesan Education Endowment Fund. VC worked
with Allegheny Graphics of Kittanning, PA to create the new site.
eBizITPA is a technology-based economic development organization whose mission is to
assist Pennsylvania business with understanding, using, and developing information
technologies to grow the economy. According to Amy Bridger, Director of Advanced
Technology Products and Projects for eBizITPA, “Part of eBizITPA’s mission is to help
organizations in the promising rural areas of the Commonwealth develop technology
talent and expertise. We have assisted a number of organizations in the Oil City region
over the years and have found that many in the region are taking the steps necessary to
compete and even thrive in today’s technology-based economy.”
Fr. John Malthaner, Headmaster at Venango Catholic High School, also noted, “Having a
quality presence on the internet is an absolute must. It’s a wonderful way for us to reach
out to every aspect of our community – alumni, parents, students, prospective students,
and our region at large.” Some features of the new website include a live Twitter feed, a
link to the school’s Facebook page, an up-to-the-minute sports calendar, an alumni hub,
testimonials from Venango Catholic community members, and the ability to donate
online.
