May Named Executive Director

ERIE, PA – Ron May has been appointed the new Executive Director for the Center for eBusiness & Advanced IT (eBizITPA).  The Board of Directors of eBizITPA announced their decision at their quarterly November 9 meeting. May has been serving as the Interim Executive Director for the organization since March, 2009.

May brings over 30 years of information technology experience in small and large businesses, as well as national and multinational corporations.  During his career he has worked for GE Transportation Sytems, Zurn Industries, Lord Corporation, the former Rentway and since 2004, has been serving as the Director of IT Programs for eBizITPA.

“The Board of Directors for eBizITPA is excited to remove the ‘Interim’ from Ron’s title,” said Chris Knoll, Chairman of eBizITPA’s Board of Directors.  “His institutional knowledge of the organization, technical expertise, and leadership experience brings stability and structure to leading eBizITPA’s strong staff of talented professionals.”

Since 2002, eBizITPA has been catalyzing the adoption and use of e-business and information technology across Pennsylvania.  Their mission is to assist Pennsylvania businesses and organizations with understanding, using and developing information technologies to grow the economy by providing resources to enable company formation and growth, developing technology talent and expertise, and facilitating collaborative efforts to stimulate innovation.

“I am looking forward to leading this organization as we head into the next decade,” said May.  “As our country works its way out of this recession, we will continue to aggressively lead the transformation from a heavy industrial-based economy to a technology-based economy in Pennsylvania.”

May and his wife Lois, of Millcreek Township, are the proud parents of three grown children and have three young grandchildren.
