10/21/2003 - eBizITPA eProcurement Tool Hits First $1 Million
eBizITPA announced today that its initial clients have conducted $1 million in online business using DynaQuote, the Center's electronic procurement tool. Purchasing departments in several organizations have reported savings of over 27% by creating greater efficiencies in their procurement on a range of products and services.

10/9/2003 - eBizITPA Appoints New Board Members
The Center For eBusiness and Advanced Information Technology (eBizITPA) has appointed two new members to its Board of Directors -- Jeffrey Parnell, Vice President/General Manager e-Commerce of Blair Corporation and David Pascale, Area Manager - Penelec.

7/24/2003 - Rendell Administration Announces Funding For Technology Projects
Community and Economic Development Secretary Dennis Yablonsky today announced the approval of a total of more than $30 million in funding by the Ben Franklin Technology Development Authority (BFTDA) to support Pennsylvania's technology-focused economic development strategy. The funding is being provided to the Center for e-Business and Advanced Information Technology located in Erie and the four regional Ben Franklin Technology Partners.

6/18/2003 - eBizITPA Open For e-Business Event Planned for Technology Center
eBizITPA, a resource center designed to help Pennsylvania businesses and organizations understand and use information technology and e-business tools through a range of services and programs, will host an open house Monday June 23, 3:30 to 5:00 PM and Tuesday June 24, 7:30 to 9:00 AM at the Center located at 5340 Fryling Road in Knowledge Park adjacent to Penn State Behrend.

5/9/2003 - eBizITPA Pilots Electronic Trading Tool for Branding Project
The Center for eBusiness and Advanced Information Technology has put into practice its first electronic supply chain offering, DynaQuote, a web-based business-to-business (B2B) "reverse auction" tool. A reverse auction is where qualified sellers bid against one-another through the Internet to sell their goods and services to buyers by offering the lowest price. Ebay is the most well-known example of Internet online auctions; reverse auctions switch the places of buyer and seller and bidding goes to the lowest price.

4/25/2003 - Paradigm Infotech to Support Center for eBusiness and Advanced IT
A Baltimore, MD based, global information technology (IT) provider has expanded its operations to northwest Pennsylvania. Paradigm Infotech has secured an office in Millcreek and hired a local manager to oversee 10 employees, including a number of IT workers taking part in a new program administered by the Center for eBusiness and Advanced Information Technology.

3/6/2003 - Ben Franklin Targets Cure for Ailing Region
". . . the center, funded by the Ben Franklin Redevelopment Authority and housed at Knowledge Park, will have several key elements, all with the goal of creating 1,500 new technology jobs during the next decade."
