On the Make By the Lake: Erie Technology Incubator Nurtures Newcomers
Gene Cherner and Steve Fialko are long-time Chicagoans who found a big opportunity in a small place. The two veterans of corporate America are working to launch CE Convergence, an online service company that helps professionals track their continuing education hours. And they are doing it with a helping hand from the Erie Technology Incubator (ETI), a center for tech start-ups located in Gannon University. It wasn't that there weren't incubators in their area; rather, none could top the one they checked out while visiting a friend in northwestern Pennsylvania.

eBizITPA receives $650,000 to foster IT business growth in rural Pennsylvania
When eBizIT PA was founded in 2002, not a lot was known about the IT business. At that time, scientists and programmers had discovered that more information could be sent over a single cable in a second than was sent over the entire Internet in a month in 1997. Development professionals knew they were on the precipice of something huge but had no idea how to build on it.

Business Plans presented on Saturday, April 10th included a new winery, metal forming design, mathematical software systems, Web site software, medical identification, archery, and transportation advertising businesses.
Penn State Shenango to Host Technology and Career Expo
Sharon, PA – The 2010 Penn State Shenango Technology and Career Expo will be held from 1 to 6 p.m. on Wednesday, Mar. 31 in the Great Hall of Shenango campus' Sharon Hall. The event, which is being co-sponsored by the Technology Council of Northwestern Pennsylvania and Penn State Shenango's Information Sciences and Technology (IST) and Career Services departments, will provide technology training and education through seminars, keynote speakers, and product demonstrations.
