The Intellectual Property Toolkit (by Bloomsburg University)

An idea is often the starting point for an improvement or invention. Unless it is protected and supported, however, it may fail to develop to a level that makes a significant difference.

The Intellectual Property and Technology Transfer Training Program was developed by Bloomsburg University's Institute for Interactive Technologies and Geisinger Ventures. Support for the program was provided by a grant from the Pennsylvania Department of Community and Economic Development.

The program consists of two interactive training modules that provide information on:

  • The benefits of knowledge and technology transfer
  • The knowledge and technology transfer process
  • Ways that intellectual property can be protected
  • Identifying which ideas should be disclosed and when to do so
  • The problem of unintentional disclosure
  • How to disclose an idea in a protected manner
  • and many other topics

The online training is available at http://iit.bloomu.edu/IP_Toolkit.

A user name and password for the training can be obtained by contacting vbasile@bloomu.edu
