Introduction to RFID and RFID Integration Management
Used to track everything from Pepsi to people, Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) is changing the face of supply chain management. Learn about the competitive advantage of RFID technology by participating in a day of comprehensive RFID education, presented by the experts at the Center for eBusiness and Advanced IT (eBizITPA) and the RFID Center of Excellence at Penn State Erie, The Behrend College.
RFID adoption is growing at an annual rate of 46% and will eventually be found in all types of consumer goods and industrial equipment. Wal-Mart, Target and the Department of Defense all have mandates requiring their vendors to ship pallets and cases of material with RFID tags attached, and the requirements are already beginning to trickle through the supply chain. Businesses will need to adopt RFID technology, not only to satisfy customer requirements, but to increase productivity and remain competitive in the marketplace.
Introduction to RFID provides an overview of
RFID technology and capabilities, and features hands-on demonstrations
using RFID readers, antennas and tags. RFID Integration Management
will provide attendees with a strategic vision for integrating RFID into
your business enterprise. This course
examines several popular technology packages and explores what they have
to offer in the way of RFID functionality. Participants will receive an
overview of RFID middleware and how it is used to span the gap between
enterprise software and RFID hardware. Today, middleware can take an RFID
event, such as reading a tag at a dock door, and inform the enterprise
software of your company of that event. Attendees will learn best practices
for using RFID data to streamline business processes and get maximum return
on investment.
Supply chain and operations professionals, company executives, IT managers and developers, IT solution providers and consultants can all benefit from participating in this program.
